The
University is currently working on an updated timetabling system and the
timeline for this major undertaking has been revised recently. The expectation now is that personalised
online student timetables will be available from the start of the 2018/19
session. This development will
necessitate some changes in timetabling practices and further information
will follow. |

Full- and part-time
working by Science students (thanks to WOWCC) Following on from the University-wide data circulated
previously, I have now obtained a breakdown by Faculties and Schools of
full- and part-time student work commitments.
This was collected as part of the LJMU Employment and Career Prospects
Survey 2015, completed by UG and PG students during the July Graduation
ceremonies. Respondents were asked
whether or not they had worked full- or part-time at any point during their
studies: |

Enhancing Fieldwork Learning
Using Mobile Technologies (thanks to Janice Harland) Colleagues from the University of Reading have
published a new book, 'Enhancing Fieldwork Learning Using Mobile
Technologies,' part of the Springer Briefs in Ecology series. The book is an output of the HEA-funded
research project Enhancing Fieldwork www.enhancingfieldwork.org.uk which promotes innovative ways to enhance
student learning during fieldwork through the use of technology. The book is practitioner-focused to help readers
support and develop their own fieldwork practice. It presents 29 case studies demonstrating
the wealth of possibilities offered by mobile technologies in the field and
offers tips on getting started and funded.
Further details about the content of the book are available at: http://link.springer.com/book/10.1007/978-3-319-20967-8 |
