New Faculty ProceduresThere are three changes to practices this year and a summary flyer is being printed that will appear in staff pigeonholes shortly. In summary: |

Tutorial attendance monitoring: A new register template for tutorials during teaching weeks is here and Level 3 and 4 registers should be returned to Subject Leaders at the end of each month (starting October). |
||||

Assessment approval: In addition to exam papers, courseworks now need to be submitted via School Offices to External examiners for approval. |
||||
> |
Assessment and Feedback (Grade Centre): All coursework marks should be submitted to School Offices via Grade Centre, these marks being visible to students. A guide to uploading marks is here. |
||||

Windows 10 and HDMIExtron AV Control panels and both IT suite & classroom PCs have been upgraded over the summer. |

First-time log-ins may take longer and the desktop has a modified appearance. App-player software should be tested before use. |

Panopto: If you obtain a folder-permission error when attempting to record on first use, exit Panopto and re-open to resolve this issue. |

Windows 10 for staff is only available in pilot version and, before requesting through helpdesk, please read here. |

Cloud storage sanctioned by LJMU should be available soon through Windows 10 via Office 365 and OneDrive. |

Vision software, used to restrict access to email and internet during online tests e.g. SPSS, does not work in Windows 10. |

Tour of RRS Discovery |

The RRS Discovery is one of the world’s most sophisticated research ships and will be berthed at the Liverpool Cruise Terminal from 4-7 October 2016. This forms part of the Natural Environment Research Council (NERC) “Into the Blue” showcase. |
