Peer Teaching Observation 2017/18

Our process is confidential and offers developmental opportunities for both the observer and the observed alike, all observations receiving a WAM/CATAC allowance.

Following last year’s 93% completion rate, FMT have agreed a 100% target for this year. Subject Leaders have/will contact observers where there is no associated record of the observation being either scheduled or completed. Observers that have yet to email Form B  to p.denton@ljmu.ac.uk should complete the declaration here if they have not done so already.

Canvas Tips

>

Owing to the way that Canvas reformats Word documents within its viewer, it is recommended that all documents not intended for student editing e.g. module guides, timetables, are uploaded in pdf format. A reminder that Adobe Reader XI is freely available and allows students to annotate pdf files, including pdf versions of PowerPoint slides.

>

The Grades area in Canvas displays all unmuted assignment marks to students alongside a total score.  By default, the total score in Canvas is an average. This is fine if your only assignments in a module are equally weighted (50:50), but could be misleading to students if not. Within Settings on a Canvas module, scroll to the bottom and select more options to access the menu, right.

An e-learning course for students on misconduct was trialled last year. The content was devised by Henry Forsyth and Andy Symons (FET). It is available for programme teams to download.
