Marybone Lecture Theatre: Response of Estates to recent email survey

As you may know, this room has been in an unacceptable state for a large part of the teaching year.  In addition to reporting issues through Estates Helpdesk on x5533, Science staff also replied to an emailed appeal for their experiences of using this room.  The response of Estates to this survey is here and it partly explains the delay in attending to the various issues.

It is worth remembering that this year’s NSS Survey for LJMU students has an additional Likert scale question, “My institution provides appropriate teaching accommodation, for example seminar rooms, lecture theatres and laboratories.”

Code of Practice for Placement Learning: Outcomes of online survey (thanks to Jamie Fearn)

The University is reviewing the Code of Practice for Placement Learning and SCS staff were invited to complete a survey (LTA Update 20/03/15).  The outcomes of this survey and other consultations are summarised here and will inform discussions about the Code for 2015/16.

This group has now met on four occasions and further details may be found here.  If you would like to be added to the mailing list then please email me.

Funding for attendance at non-subject-specific pedagogic conferences

Faculty funding is available to support attendance at pedagogic conferences that are not specific to a particular academic discipline and for which School funding is not available. You would be asked to write a short report upon your return for publishing to the Faculty LTA website.  For example, the following conference would be of general interest and please email me before Friday 1st May if you are interested in attending.
