LJMU Curriculum Enhancement Student Internships 2015: Deadline 16th
March A reminder that following the
success of last year’s Curriculum Enhancement Student Internships, funding
has again been made available by the Offices of the Vice Chancellor and Pro
Vice Chancellor (Education) to support curriculum enhancement projects this
Summer. The intention is that these
projects will be proposed and undertaken by academic staff working with LJMU
students. Academic staff will lead and
supervise the internship projects. The University is inviting proposals for projects that
could be undertaken by a student intern.
Deadline for receipt of Project Proposal
Forms is 5pm, Monday 16th March.
If you have any queries please contact Liz
Clifford. |

Timetable Steering Group: Draft Room and Space Booking Policy
Consultation The University plans to have a new
timetabling system up and running by 2017/18. The long run-in recognises the
vast scale of a project that aims to provide all students and staff with
personalised timetables. As part of
the ground work for this project, comment is invited on the Draft
Room and Space Booking Policy by Thursday 2nd April. I will then take collected comments to the
next Timetable Steering Group meeting. |

Adobe Creative Cloud (thanks to Chris Gilles) For those who missed it, the Adobe
Creative Cloud is now available to all LJMU staff and students. This is a suite of professional software applications
useful for graphic, video, audio and web production. |
||||
It includes the likes of Photoshop
(image editing), Dreamweaver (web design), Premier Pro (video editing), After
Effects (video effects), Flash Professional (animation and game design) and
Acrobat Pro (PDF editing) amongst many others. |
|
|||
This suite is available on campus to staff and students and
off-campus to staff only. Colleagues will need the latest version of the
managed client (with Office 2013) to request installation, however some of
the applications, including Photoshop, are available on older systems via the
JMU App Player. This could be a great opportunity for those of you wanting
to explore other forms of assessment involving video, audio, web and image
production. Similarly if you want to
achieve a greater level of polish in both your existing and future staff
and/or student projects, access to this great collection of professional
resources could aid such aspirations. More information is available from the IT helpdesk section
on the LJMU website and also from Adobe’s own website. |
