Webcams in
offices and classrooms A reminder that webcams, and other IT
peripherals, for offices can now be ordered via the IT Helpdesk dedicated request
page. All classrooms should have in-built audio-recording facilities
through a webcam (in addition to a radio microphone in some cases). These
enable Academic staff to use the Panopto lecture-recording software, if they
wish. Please report missing Webcams in classrooms to IT
Helpdesk. |

Pre-conference
staff development event and social This event offers colleagues the
opportunity to register for Students at the Heart (SATH) Conference sessions
over lunch and chat informally about the programme. There will also be
presentations by Faculty colleagues and the event is scheduled for late May.
Details will follow. |

Our new
Faculty scheme replaces ‘Talking about Teaching’ and participating staff
have been emailed with details of their observation partner. If you unable to
complete your observation within the final two weeks of teaching then please
let me know so that I can update my records. |

Online and in-person examinations Online > The Assistant Faculty Registrar advises that it is reasonable
to extend published/allowed time if we expect material to be uploaded by
students. Graham Sherwood suggest that that an extra time allowance of 20
minutes would be appropriate. In-person > If you are involved in the
invigilation of an exam over the next few weeks then a reminder that the
University has an ‘Invigilation of Examinations’ policy available
via the Policy
Centre. |

Teaching Insights Seminars The next event in this series takes
place late this month. > Capturing Perspectives:
harnessing the power of Photovoice for transformative assessment. Monday 22 April, 2.30pm – 3.30pm This
seminar will be led by Dr Lindsey Gaston, Liverpool Business School, Faculty
of Business and Law. Further detail about this session and
booking information is available in the Staff Development Calendar. |

Experience Awards 2024 This event
took place on Friday 1st March and over twenty staff from the
Faculty’s administrative, technical and academic teams were honoured. Congratulations
