Employability

Student Employability, Enterprise & Employment Strategy

Developed by the Director of Student Advancement, Chris Finn, through consultations with stakeholders, this strategy has been approved by the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and will be presented at Academic Board on March 11th. The strategy sets out a whole-university approach to careers, employability & enterprise that, “ensures all of our students experience, a transformative change in their employability skills & mindset, self-awareness, assuredness, agency and career trajectory.” An introduction to the Strategy forms part of the Faculty’s forthcoming PVC roadshow.

Coordinators will liaise the SMTs, Programme Teams, the Placement Learning Support Unit (PLSU) and Associate Dean Education in optimising our students’ graduate outcomes. The team’s City Socials help support students who may be feeling a bit isolated and provide a safe and friendly environment to meet new people, try something new and feel more settled in Liverpool. If you’d like to receive the weekly ‘What’s On’ newsletter, or want to collaborate with the team about a bespoke event for your students, then please email StudentOpportunities@ljmu.ac.uk. Forthcoming highlights include: Cats (10th February), Romeo and Juliet (13th March), Late at Tate: Regeneration (28th March), Ghost Stories (31st March), and YNWA (27TH April) (a play at the Royal Court dedicated to LFC).
